Net Updates
POTA Pit:
The last POTA Pit net will be at 7pm Central on January 30, 2023.
We’ve had a good run over 1.5 years and told many stories, answered many questions, and met new friends, but it feels like we’ve boiled it down from 20-30 check-ins at the beginning to maybe a half-dozen or so.
Someone commented that it was a bit of a long shot to see if there were enough POTA folks who also had Fusion capability/interest. Maybe…
The original request for the net was to answer questions from new Hunters and Activators, and to create a following for portable operating in KC.
In spite of the challenges, I think it is mission accomplished.
Thanks to all the participants and we look forward to sharing a park or a QSO sometime!

Thursday Evening Check In:
Because of a scheduling conflict, Jamie ADØAB, is moving his Thursday Check In net to Wednesdays at 4:30pm.
Santa Net Recordings
If you missed the fun, here are recordings of the December 11th and December 20th Santa Nets.
Hello North Florida!
Thanks to Jim Carr, KC4MHH, we have another great repeater in the America’s Kansas City Wide family! His repeater is located at 650 feet on a TV tower in Gainesville, FL. The frequency is 444.050. It will default to KCWide, but may be changed to other rooms on demand. This repeater can be reached by a mobile from as far away as Orlando.
Jim also runs a network of 8 other repeaters, including DMR and AllStarLink-connected FM repeaters. Look him up on the web at: http://kc4mhh.com/
Santa is visiting Kansas City Wide!
Santa has booked two time slots to talk one-on-one with the young ones this holiday season. Stay tuned for the details. There will be an advance sign-up process to be sure everyone gets a chance to talk with Santa on Fusion!

New International Net
The first International Net was this morning, Friday, November 4th, at 10:30 central. It was a fantastic success with 63 logins! This was an experiment, and we’ll be making announcements for future international nets.

New Ladies Net starting on Fusion
I am excited to announce a new Ladies Net that is starting on Fusion in the Kansas City-Wide Room called “Hammettes”.
The net will start with some great leadership and is poised to grow as a unique net.
“Hammettes” is the inspiration of Jennifer NØVVX, who is president of the Raytown Amateur Radio Club and Kristl KR1STL, who is the president of the Warrensburg Area Amateur Radio Club.
The net is for everyone, but the hope is to help make the ladies feel welcome and encourage them to join in on Ham radio. We hope you contribute to the net’s conversation.
Fusion and KC-Wide was selected to increase the nets coverage area to include people from all over to join in.
Please help us in spreading the word that “Hammettes” premieres on Tuesday October 4th at 8:00 pm, CST.
POTA Pit net taking a break
The POTA Pit net will be taking a short break, returning on November 7, 2022.
Be sure to keep sending your questions to John, ABØO, and he’ll discuss them when the net returns.
Keep activating and hunting!
New net!
Please join us in KCWide for a new net. The Southeast Kansas Amateur Radio Club will hold their weekly net at 7PM Central time. This will include repeaters from the Four State Fusion Net.
Thanks to the club for adding their repeater to KCWide!
DMR Bridge to KCWide
KCWide is now available via Brandmeister DMR talkgroup 313136.
Please, respect your DMR repeater owner’s rules, and do not keep the bridge active when you are not talking. Many repeaters frown on ‘kerchunking’ a talkgroup to keep it active. Failure to follow the rules may get our talkgroup blocked from your repeater.
